Education and training
NSI sees its member teams and events as an important learning arena where you can gain valuable experience of the challenges and opportunities in Norwegian sport.
To support our members in this learning, NSI wants to contribute with an educational program that leaders and volunteers in student sports can rely on.
Through e.g.
gatherings, mentoring programs and international leadership practice, you as a representative in student sport will have the opportunity to develop in your leadership role.
Mentoring program for young leaders
The mentor program started with the first cohort in 2018/2019 and has had annual admissions since 2018. The purpose of the mentor program is to provide selected young leaders in Norwegian sport with an arena for personal development, professional development and networking across backgrounds, roles and gender.
Collections
Every year, NSI organizes several gatherings for managers and board members in student sports.
The gatherings focus on experience transfer, professional replenishment and have a social profile.
Here you can meet the rest of the student sports community for important discussions and content-rich lectures!
The gatherings are arranged at Thon hotels near Oslo.
NSI covers the main trip for all participants with longer travel distances to the meetings. NSI’s collections:
- Leadership gathering (Friday-Sunday the last weekend in October)
- Networking event (Saturday-Sunday the last weekend in March)
- Association meeting (replaces network gathering every 2 years. Date set by the association board)
Invitations go out to student sports teams approx.
two months before the gathering.
International management practices
As a member of the international student sports federations EUSA and FISU, the Norwegian Student Sports Federation participates in many international arenas every year. We advertise positions and bring along committed student athletes as part of the Norwegian delegation leadership to give members practical experience from international conferences and championships.
