The core
At the heart of our brand is our purpose and mission, our vision and our values.
The Norwegian Student Sports Confederation was founded in 1913 on the basic idea «Mens sana in corpore sano»; a healthy soul in a healthy body.
Today, this is expressed through a solid and clear federation with a purpose to promote student sports and outdoor life in Norway, and to represent sport internationally.
The way we do this, our mission statement, is to be a helper in combining sports and studies, and to be the link between youth and adult sports.
In this way, the time spent studying is active, social and stimulating, filled with joy and a sense of belonging in the student sports teams.
Student sport is the arena where individuals can achieve the goals they set themselves in the combination of sport and studies, both as athletes and as representatives.

The Norwegian Student Sports Federation is a challenger and deliberately breaks with some of the established rules in its category as a special association.

Usage
Norges studentidrettsforbund is our formal name. We use this in all formal contexts, orally and in writing. For example, in political work, formal mailings to club members, formal letters and certificates, resolutions and formal communication with other organizations and authorities. .
The abbreviation NSI may be used in informal contexts, in writing or verbally.
When the abbreviation is used, it must be in a context where it is easy to understand what NSI is an abbreviation for.
When building our brand through communication, activities and presence, we use Studentidrett.
This is a short version of our formal name, and is well established as our name.
It is used in the logo, domain and otherwise in writing and verbally in most contexts, with the exception of those times when it is necessary to use our formal name.
Studentidrettsforbundet can also be used where «the association» is natural to refer to.
